Shelfie...

I have been clearing out and decorating my room for the last week or so...
when I say decorating, I think it's more like organising...

im very lucky to have sufficient shelving in my bedroom which allows me to display items in a pretty way.

the picture below shows a small part of the middle shelf.
ill have to try to picture them all when I've finished!

Aside from being very pink and girly, what do you think? any better suggestions?

A selection of my favorite arm candy...

Here is a small selection of my current favorite jewellery peices:

The watch is a DKNY rose gold bejewelled peice i have had for around 2 years now and is one of my few gold toned watches.

The sparkly gold bow ring is Tatty Devine.

The icecream necklace is from the 'Lucky dip club' found on Instagram, founded by the lovely lady Leona who used to run 'Lady luck rules ok'.

The lovely earrings are both from Coast, and the bracelet is from Warehouse -All should still be in the shops.

I tend to chop and change what i wear alot for jewellery so ill update this fairly often to reflect any new things ive bought!

My makeup bag...

I have been waiting for inspiration to strike me to create a beauty post, and to get the ball rolling I thought I would start with a simple 'whats in my beauty bag?'

I am very fickle with my beauty brands and dont tend to stay too loyal unless its something I really, really love!

so starting from the top left hand and continuing clockwise here is a small selection of my makeup:

1. the Stila colour adjusting blush- Honestly I expected so much from this and its not worth the hype for me, although it may be down to me choosing a terrible shade for my english rose complexion, as its a rediculous hot pink in the pan and its the same colour on my face its too bold and too bright and its clownish on me... gutted as i had heard so much good press... (i will try the coral before completely giving up on this range!).

2. A Louise Grey powder brush. (limited edition topshop).

3. Nail Emery boards.

4. Naked skin by Urban Decay, again Iam cursed by my pale skin...
I tried this in a debenhams with the help from a girl on the counter and she ended up packing me the darker shade (a 2 if your interested) when I needed a 1. As i unpacked and used it I couldnt take it back for a refund, so iuts now my fake tan foundation. although i have to say its incredably good (only bested by Lancome).

5. TopShop lipstick and lip cream in: 'Pillow talk' and Daze'. The lipstick in 'Pillow talk' is one i find you need to constantly reapply to not have the weird blotchy application you can sometimes get when lipsticks dry on your lips. The cream fares better and it lasts for 2/3 hours before needing a reaplication. Although i have taken to layering to two together as they are almost an exact match.

6. Coach Poppy perfume pen, this is a light fres, flowery smell that i really love and the pen is from a chirstmas coffre giftset.

7. Estee Lauder gel eyeliner. This is one of the FEW makeup items I will not buy from anyone else! There is nothing bad to say about it! Its a great prices at £15 and it last forever and its got a great deep pigment that doesnt smudge or drop even when worn on the lower eye. (Panda eyes are gone!). Seriously everone must buy this.

8. Gerlaine Maxi lash mascara... I am yet to actually open thsi to test it out so i will write a review on it in the up-coming weeks...

So have you experianced anything different with these products? Please comment below...

zatchels...

I have to say, I now have the BIGGEST obsession with Zatchels!

They are British and made out of beautiful leather which wears really well (my red one -pictured below) I've had since Christmas 2013, and it STILL looks perfect and fresh from the shop!

I'm really big on leather bags since over the years of buying cheap man-made material bags they just damage really quickly and easily! so you only really get a couple of years out
of them if your lucky...

As I just mentioned, I was given my first Zatchel for Christmas by my sister.
I'd never actually heard of the brand before then but she had seen them, bought them and loved them.

I love my little red bag so much that for my birthday she bought me this beautiful metallic bag as well...

and it's safe to say I'm obsessed!

I want all the shapes and colours as ok Get so much use out of them!

Have you heard of them before?

trainer envy...

I have to say I am obsessed with these trainers and i cant wait till payday to rush down to the store or  schuh.com if they have run out of my size (8's if your wondering!).

I think they will be perfect with a denim skirt or skinny jeans and as it has so many colours in the pattern I wont have much trouble matching it to a top...

I have been on a huge shoe buying ban the last year as when I moved house last I packed up 100!! -yes 100- pairs of shoes.
thats just obscene, I could open my own store... although it would only cater for a select size. haha

but i think as ive thrown out a few pairs after wearing them out i can justify these beauts

what do you think of them, would you wear them??

time to accessorise...

i have a small confession to make here...

i have the biggest obsession with accessories, from clutch bags to watches to rings and bracelets... if its arm candy im all about it.

i have thousands of bracelets and earrings and as i work in fashion retail, that collect expands all the time -so dont be too suprised if the majority of posts are huge bountys of gems and sparkles...

one of my newest and most summer ready pieces are pictured here to show you what im wearing, picture number one is a necklace from zara thats perfect with a basic white tee as well as a tribal patterned dress.

this next picture shows a beautiful necklace i spent months tracking down from accessorize due to  the stores constantly being out of stock, its more georgous in the flesh and the right size and colouring to go with just about everything...

this final picture just shows me showing off a few vintage an accessorize bracelets ive collected through out the years, the bangle used to belong to my grandmother so its a favorite that i wear alot.

i really enjoy layering my bracelets as it then gives me a great chance to get the wear out of everything i own rather than just wearing one at a time.

do you layer any of your jewellery??

Reading and Leeds festival fashion...

I am a huge fan of festivals and every year I volunteer with Oxfam as part of the festival team, if you haven't heard of this before I really recommend you visit the website (Oxfam Stewarding ).

Its an amazing free way to go to many popular festivals and give back to an amazing charity!

One of the best parts of going to a festival is the dressing up and getting to wear fun thingsyou might not wear in day to day life!

I always make New Look my first point of call when shopping for festival look, as its affordable as well as being on trend.
Sadly Im not off to Reading or Leeds this year (after going every year since 2008).
But I did enjoy Glastonbury this year, do will share my top five festival essentuals that will improve your festival experience (excluding tents and sleeping bags!).

The beginning...

Hello! I have decided to start a brand new fashion and beauty blog.
I've been following a lot of other bloggers and have been toying with the idea of starting one for a couple of months now, so here I am!

I'm really interested in fashion and have recently taken a bigger interest in makeup and skin care, so as part of this blog you will get to see my makeup and skin care regime improve and evolve and ill let you know any wins or fails!

The name Rose Idol came about from a chat between me and my Best friend Kay (who I've known since I was in primary school!).

Its a good mix of pretty and fashionable which I think will reflect my blog style perfectly...

I would love to get any feedback on any articles you are interested in reading, so please send me an email on any suggestions! :)
